Brielle

It's been awhile

Matéya is now 3 months old and having a wonderful time adapting to life in the Thibaudeau household. This includes Brielle smothering her with kisses on a daily basis, playing at the park (in which she sleeps the whole time), sleeping in her swing for naps and her crib for nighttime, and EATING! She is holding her body up really well now, playing with toys, grasping objects and sucking her hands. She finds her thumb once and a while but is still content to curl her fingers through her blankie and chew her fingers. She laughs at everyone and loves bathtime. The cutest giggles come when papa and Brielle bathe her. She is such a content little baby, and it is so much easier to enjoy her at this age than her bigger sister. Although she doesn't sleep as well, I'll take happy baby over crying baby any day! The two girls still look so much alike. In some of the web album pictures, I've included pics from when Brielle was Matéya's age. It's crazy that they can look so alike, but have such different personalities!

This is a crazy time of year for us as we celebrate Mother's Day, Jerome's birthday, my birthday, Father's Day, and Brielle's birthday all within a month! Thankfully, this year I'm not also trying to finish up school work and activities all while writing report cards. I don't miss those!!! Brielle is turning 3 at the end of the month and I can't believe how quickly time has flown by. Although the house is still up for sale, we have her registered for pre-school in the fall as well as dance and perhaps gymnastics. She is one active girl, but she is learning to wait patiently and calm down when needed. She loves anything and everything Dora the Explorer and has about 10 of her DVDs. She can count to 10 in Spanish and say several words. We don't even understand her sometimes! She continues to prefer to speak in English, but she completely understands French, and mixes her sentences with French and English by choosing whatever word she feels like. A typical sentence is "May I have un bonbon s'il te plait?" or "time for my dodo maman?" She can count to 29 in both French and English and she recognizes the patterns because after 29 comes 20-10 instead of thirty. If we correct her, she'll continue on with thirty one, thirty two, etc. until 40. She knows all of her ABCs in both languages as well and can write her name. She's starting to recognize sight words and can read maman, papa, grandma, grandpa, Lori, Kaylah, Brielle, Matéya, cat, dog, the, at, chat, chien, le, la, and daddy. She loves to draw, do puzzles, play 'Princesses' and read. She never ceases to amaze us!

As I had mentioned, our house is still up for sale. It has been since February and we haven't had a lot of interest even in showings. We're not sure what to do about it, but I think some changes are going to be happening in the next couple of weeks. I've avoided looking at other homes to avoid the disappointment, but we've found a couple of areas that we'd love to live in, and it's getting harder not to go and look for a house. One area is so close to Jerome's work, he could walk! We would save so much in gas, and he could even come home for lunch. Not to mention that there's a francophone school just a short drive away. We hope to have everything sorted out before the end of summer at least, so that Brielle can be registered for programs in Langley/Surrey in time for September.

Well that's the update for where we're at, and what we're up to these days. I will try very hard to get the web album pictures here on the blog for those of you who can't seem to access the album. I've added a link at the bottom of this post "photo album de Brielle" that should take you to those pictures for now... Take care, and have a wonderful summer everyone!

Photo album de Brielle

Now that the basement is finally complete, we have moved the majority of Brielle's toys downstairs. These photos were taken Sunday afternoon, us just playing around in the playroom. Brielle really is playing Jerome's trumpet - something he taught her this past weekend! She also continues to love anything to do with baby dolls. Hopefully she'll be just as caring when she becomes a big sister!
